This is a game dedicated to the investigation of funny, frightening and mysterious crimes.
Detectives will literally need to follow the trail, looking at a detailed map of the city with a magnifying glass.
For a better understanding of the principles of the game, we recommend starting with the Sombrero introductory case.
Choose a player to be the Chief Investigator. The Chief Investigator leads the investigation and reads the text on the cards.
Remove the deck of Sombrero Case cards from the envelope and place it next to the city card.
The Chief Investigator takes the first card and reads the text on its back aloud.
The text on the cards must be read aloud, loudly and clearly. It often
contains important information! And the illustrations on the cards need to be shown to all players.
On the front side of the second card is your first task in this case. Chief Investigator reads
the task aloud without turning over the card.
The answer to the task is always a specific scene on the city map. Find the right scene. If you think you've made it through
task, the Chief Investigator turns over the card and checks if the coordinates and the scene depicted on it match with your answer.
If your answer is correct, the Chief Investigator reads the text on the back of the card aloud and shows the picture to all players.
If the answer is wrong, put the card back without reading the text.
Now the Chief Investigator knows the answer, and therefore should no longer participate in the search.
After finding the answer and reading the text on the back of the card, put it aside. Current top
deck card is your next task!
Solve all 4 tasks of the introductory case in order.
Now you know how to play and are ready to take on more complex cases!
